Do T-shirt purchases count as a donation toward the total, or do we pay for the shirts separately from the rest of the donation? As an example, if we want to contribute $150, would a T-shirt be included?  

Any shirts purchased for current SS students count toward the donation total. Any extra shirts for non-Sunnyside siblings, parents, grandparents, etc., can be purchased for the reduced price of $20 and do not count towards the donation total for prize levels. A family with two Sunnyside students could donate $150 and get two t-shirts in that cost. If one parent also wants a t-shirt, the total would be $165.

 

How long will the Color Run last?  

The run/walk begins at 5, and is expected to last an hour. However, there will be a silent auction, food, and the Sunnyside playground. It’s a family-friendly event and people are welcome to stay for the length of time that best suits their family.

 

Are siblings invited to take part in the Color Run, or Walk-A-Thon? Are those different events? 

Family members are encouraged to join the fun! Everyone is welcome to walk, run, skip, or hop and be colored with chalk during the event.  The event was previously called the Walk-A-Thon, but transitioned to the Color Run this year. We hope to see lots of family members join this year’s event!

 

Will there be food? It’s near dinnertime, and Friday is tough! 

Yes there will be hot dogs, chips, water, pop, shaved ice, and cotton candy for sale. While the event will take place outside, the school will be open for bathroom access.

 

Will we need to bring money? 

YES, there will be food for sale as well as sunglasses, tattoos, extra chalk, shaved ice, and cotton candy. There’s even a silent auction! Everything is cash except the silent auction.

 

Is this the only time to buy Sunnyside shirts? 

The shirt for this event is only available for this event prior to the September 6 pledge and donation deadline. Information about ordering Sunnyside spiritwear will be communicated at a later date.

 

The PTO meets every month on the first Tuesday at 7 pm in the library. We welcome you to come learn more about what’s happening at your child’s school!
